All of our footwear and accessories are vegan and made from man-made pleather (PU), hemp, cotton, jute or vinyl.
What materials are used in the footwear that you stock?
Man-made materials are used to construct most of the footwear that we stock. Other materials include canvas and hemp. PU or polyurethane is the most common man-made material used in the construction of vegetarian shoes as it imitates the practical qualities of leather. It is durable, water-resistant and easy to clean. PU is sometimes called Pleather or faux leather. Suedette is faux suede and is made from cloth. It is a lightweight, soft material that is harder to keep clean and is not water-resistant; it can be elasticized to create a stretch suedette. Microfibre is made from polyurethane and polyester and like canvas it is a comfortable, breathable material. Hemp fibre has a harder, uneven texture and is extremely durable. We assure that there is no leather in the footwear that we stock. This includes the inside and upper region of the shoe where there is commonly a mix of leather and man-made materials in some brand’s of shoes.
What sizing is used?
The Vegetarian Shoes brand uses UK or Euro sizing and each style is different so please read descriptions carefully. The Bump and Para styles run 1 full size big, possibly 1.5 even. The Nile shoe is the opposite and runs a full size small. Most New Zealanders find US sizes narrow so keep this in mind when ordering any Demonia, Pleaser, Soda, Delicious, Classified or Misc brands. If you require measurements please ask but we do not print inside or outside sole measurement’s as we think it is an inaccurate guide to shoe size. Length is only one factor in the fit of a shoe; the width, the shape and the material it is made out of need to be taken into consideration. Please remember we offer a guide to the fit of a shoe and have no responsibility or way of knowing if a shoe will fit you. We offer exchanges, not returns so please read the 'Returns Policy' before you purchase.
Do you ship internationally?
At present, Deviate is only selling within New Zealand.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and PayPal payments. Deviate Footwear and Accessories uses the PayPal secure online payment gateway for all credit transactions. Alternatively, if you do not have a credit card you can pay via internet banking but please email us with your request as we have to manually delete items from stock and note that there will be a price difference in some items. *Pay Pal users: you do not need to have a Pay Pal account to make a payment through Pay Pal, only a credit card. If you have any trouble then please ask.

What are your delivery options?
All goods are delivered via courier at $3.50 for orders under $30 and $6 for orders over $30. All rural deliveries are $9.50 and a signature is required. We recommend that a work address be given if you are unavailable during weekdays. At present, we do not offer Saturday deliveries as they are an extra cost and are only available to major metropolitan destinations. Please let us know if you feel that this service would benefit you and we can make the necessary changes for an additional freight fee. Please note that delivery takes 1-2 days (usually overnight) for small items such as makeup brushes or wallets but shoes take 2-3 days for delivery. We use Fastway Couriers.
Are there any additional costs for purchasing more than one item?
No. There is only one delivery charge for anywhere in NZ and for as many items that you like. $3.50 for non-rural under $30, $6 for non-rural over $30 and $9.50 for all rural addresses.
Can I place an item on backorder?
You may email us with a request for a style of footwear if it is unavailable in your size and we may be able to re-order it and hold it aside for you. Some styles are one-off fashion items while others are all-year-round staples that we plan to stock all the time. Deviate’s policy is only to sell what we have in stock. We do not believe that a customer should pay for an item in advance while it is ordered.
